Growing up as a surfer since the age of 3 on Maui, I’ve accomplished several awards in amateur and professional surfing, and skimboarding, and now as an ocean photographer, the challenges to get the shot are worth every second spent in the ocean. I’m currently working with fellow SurfEars ambassador, Akira Jet Nakaura, in and out of the lineup. I’m a big fan of his unique approach to the surf and his charisma keeps me on my toes.
Since moving to Japan and colder water temps than Hawaii, my ears finally started holding water more frequently. After trying several other ear protection brands, I found SurfEars in my local surf shop. I bought a pair because I’d heard of their quality. From the first go I knew they were for me. No loss of balance surfing, and no dangers of not hearing. Now as an ocean photographer, my time is spent more under the waves than above them and my SurfEars are now a critical part of my equipment.
